Summer Selfie

Taking time this summer to help develop your selfie

Summer is in full bloom and it is time to let the calendars show spaces in the days and the nights full of family time.

Yet another school year is in the rear view and the overly load of hectic schedules are winding down for a bit.

This is such a perfect opportunity to tune into and soak up the possibilities that can help promote security and self worth for your child.

Giving your child a voice, choice and opportunity can help you as a parent see what matters to them, where their interests lie, and what essentially motivates them. Sometimes as parents we do what “we” think is best for them, while our child might feel like a robot going through life. When we can slow down to smell the roses, we see what we maybe haven’t been able to see.

Self esteem is a mix of internal and external qualities. When you think of your child what do you see? What do they see? Keep this balanced and fresh. You child has endless possibilities, make sure they don’t get stuck.

So try this summer to have your child take the lead and see where it takes them, you might witness a new side to them that may have been hidden in the schedule.

Add the Self Esteem Issue to your MASK Library and read more about building self esteem.
