MASK’s Need-to-Know Tips For Winter

Keeping up with the current trends for today’s children can be overwhelming. Keeping the communication open and utilizing some tips can help keep you child safe.

Drug

Prevention can never start too early. If your child is curious about the medicine they see you take or that is in the house, rather than tell them it’s bad, explain why it’s useful for some people, but can be dangerous to children or if used improperly.

Bully

Always keep a record of bullying instances in order to have concrete proof of the attacks. If it happens in person, make note of the time and day, where it happened and who else was around to see it. If it happens online, always take screenshots before deleting the post or blocking the person.

Tech

As YouTube becomes more appealing to a younger audience, it’s more crucial than ever to monitor the content your child is watching and uploading. Create a family account so you can track what your child has watched, searched and shared online.

Safety

With the majority of children taking online classes, be sure to cover up the webcam on any computer when it’s not in use. Hackers may be able to access the webcam at any time and spy on your child without being detected.
