Get A Clue

Get a Clue

Let’s be real. For women, especially young girls keeping track of your menstrual cycle is essential to their health. Making sure your cycle is regular and knowing when your period will start gives you peace of mind.
However, keeping a log of your menstruation, symptoms and other related changes can be tedious. Having to physically write it your calendar, in a notebook, or on a notes app just takes too long and isn’t very efficient.
Fortunately, there’s a very simple solution that can be found right in your phone. The Clue app offers an easy-to-use logging system that makes note of your period, symptoms and, for women planning to get pregnant, your fertile window. Simply tap the date your period starts and keep a daily log until it ends. The app will then calculate when your next period will begin.
Getting started with the app is simple. Begin by entering information you know: your cycle length, average period duration, preferred birth control (if any). If you know past period dates and symptoms, you can also log this information with a few easy taps. Enter your periods as they come and Clue will “become smarter” and better predict future cycles.
Any day you experience symptoms such as cramps, mood swings, cravings and noticeable differences in skin, you can enter it at the touch of a button. Logging this information is useful for future periods; if you’re having painful cramps on the third day of your period, you can look back at past cycles and see if this is a common occurrence. For the rest of your cycle, you can look ahead to fertility windows and future period predictions.
Want to see the cycle information of your daughter, friend or partner? The app’s added feature, Clue Connect, makes it easy to share (and unshare) cycle data. This feature is especially useful for parents of preteens and teens.
The Clue App is free and available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
