These are the names of the different types of bath salts being sold at smoke shops, retail stores and websites. These bath salts aren’t the kind you pour into the tub to soak in and relax. Instead, they’re intended to be snorted, smoked or injected, and users are getting high off of them.Ingredients often contain mephedrone andmethylenedioxypyrovalerone, also known asMDPV, and can cause hallucinations, paranoia,rapid heart rates and suicidal thoughts, authorities say. While the Drug Enforcement Administration doesn’t regulate these substances, they are under federal scrutiny to monitor them as the effects of these salts are comparable to methamphetamineabuse, according to poison control centers and other law enforcement agencies.
