Balance, Boundaries, and Belief…

We live in a world today where little girls are now looking up to unrealistic images and a value of self is based on likes, luxury and self loathing.

The digital world has crossed the boundaries of everyday life. Reality is now blended with a counterfeit expectation of what one should be or become. Our children are fed this narrative 24/7.

This world is falling shorter and shorter on helping provide environments and encouragement to these developing brains. It’s superficial and our children are developing their self esteem based on things that will not uphold.

How do we as parents compete with this constant evolving intrusiveness.

Balance, Boundaries, and Belief…

Technology is not going anywhere so we have to teach our children how to balance it and boundaries around it. Creating boundaries around overall technology use is key and having ongoing conversations about what they are viewing online. Helping them decipher what is real and not real.

Belief comes down to modeling and providing your child with experiences that can help build who they are in the inside. Internal “self” will always uphold. Volunteering, being a good friend, helping around the house or neighborhood. And let them makes choices, when kids make their own age-appropriate choices, they feel more powerful.

Encouraging them for the internal qualities will help develop a strong foundation of self and help keep them from the entitlement mentality that is streamed today!
