MASK Safety Tips For Winter

When it comes to living in a Digital World there are many things to think about when it comes to children and parenting.

Here are four topics to discuss and with regards to technology with your child.

Safety

The online can world can have many evils, but there is actually a lot of room for good. Apps, such as Kaspersky SafeKids and TrueMotion Family Safe Driving, allow you to see your child’s location, restrict their access online, and see their driving habits. Just one app can give you peace of mind about their safety and security, online and in the real world.

Tech

As school gets more demanding, staying organized is essential to your child’s success. Apps like The Homework App and Class Timetable allow students to keep track of when classes are and what homework they have. After class/school is over, they can enter what and when assignments are due. When it’s at the touch of a button, forgetting homework is no longer an issue!

Drug

Drugs do not just exist in the hidden parts of the Internet. Buying and selling drugs paraphernalia can be done easily through platforms like Kik and Instagram, using hashtags and direct messages. Monitoring your child’s social media use, in addition to talking to them about the dangers of drugs and online threats, is the most important step in stopping a problem before it starts.

Bullying

Allowing your child to have social media is a choice; if you do let them, there are precautions you can take to make sure it remains healthy and bully-free. Instagram allows users to block others, censor negative comments, and make a profile private from those who do not follow them. Social media should be for positive interaction, and these steps ensure that.
